Edo election: Days after Obaseki’s disqualification, APC NWC meets with Gambari in Aso Rock –
Following the disqualification of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state from contesting the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party is currently meeting with Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Nigerian Tribune reports that the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, led the members of the NWC to the Aso Villa on Monday, June 15.
It was gathered that the meeting is taking place in the CoS’ office in State House, Abuja.
The newspaper noted that was sighted at the Villa with the party’s national vice chairman (northwest), Inuwa Abdulkadir; the national treasurer, Adamu Panda and two others, adding that Oshiomhole was escorted to the meeting by a police orderly who had a pile of office files with him.
The party boss is dealing with the fallout from the party’s disqualification of Obaseki from participating in the state gubernatorial primaries.
The meeting is believed to be in connection with the crisis.
